OPEN TO

  • All youths between the age of 12 and 25 (as of the closing date of submission of video entries)
  • Registered students from all secondary schools, international schools, private educational institutions, vocational institutes / ITEs,  junior colleges, centralised institutes, polytechnics, and tertiary institutions  

  • Locally Based Non-students

  • Participants must be Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents or foreigners residing in  Singapore on a valid Singapore Immigration Pass

Here are some sub-themes to guide participants along:

a) It takes a village – everyone has a part to play (for a drug-free future).

b) The choice is yours – be empowered and make the right one.

c) Choose dreams, not drugs – you only have one life, don’t waste it to drugs

d) You can help your loved ones too – take the first step and influence them positively.”

DrugFreeSG Video Competition Workshop

In this free videography workshop, participants will learn the following from industry professionals:

1. The basics and essentials of storytelling.
2. The passion, commitment, responsibility required.
3. How to execute guerilla but evocative cost-efficient filmmaking.
4. Editing, including the various formats for social media.
5. The harmful effects of drugs and drug abuse.

Jaze phua

Jaze is the founder of Pandastic Media – a media agency with a focus on social media content. In 2019, his “Naruto-inspired Mirror Run Challenge” went viral on social media. That same year, his parody video of the Avenger’s End Game (2019) trailer received praise from Mark Ruffalo and Anthony and Joseph Russo – the directors of the Hollywood film.

Derrick is a Singaporean filmmaker who has worked on various projects in Medicorp’s TVC arm and MTV Asia. Derrick current explores different narrative forms as a freelance director/writer.
